Practical Application of Incident Command System- Basic (W410)

The Basic Practical Application of Incident Command (PAICS) course takes the various components of FEMA’s incident command training, as found in various courses, and puts them in practical situations. The students simulate the initial response to various critical incidents within the first couple of hours using a scale model city.  This training centers around the use of incident command in Wisconsin along with the interface with both local and state agencies.  Some  examples are used from major disasters and incidents that occurred in Wisconsin.  Other topics covered are resources, information/intelligence, evacuation, and managing the media.  This class is primarily designed for first line supervisors that assume initial command in incidents.
